November Update - More death! Splitting Slimes!
Greetings, adventurers!
I'm back with another update for Realms & Ruins: Abencor. This month has seen significant progress in various aspects of the game, bringing us inches closer to the finish line!
- Monster Death Animations Complete!
I'm pleased to share that all 30+ monsters in the game now have fully-realized death animations. This was a time consuming process, ensuring each creature's departure from the realm is unique and engaging. Going forward, I will be adding death animations as I add more monsters to the game.
- Dungeons Maps and Navigation
I've been hard at working continuing to map out the current dungeons, with some tweaks and updates to existing ones to flesh out these final areas for this leg of the game. Additionally, I've successfully implemented navigation in all current maps, ensuring smooth traversal for the player and monsters alike!
- Spawn Tile Grouping Underway
To enhance the player's experience, I've started grouping tiles for spawns across all existing maps. This process will contribute to creating dynamic encounters and setup for monster spawning.
- Coming Soon: Scripted Dialogue and Quests!
Looking forward, the next phase of development is in motion. I'm preparing to implement scripted dialogue, complete map transitions and create quests for this last region of the game. After that, I'll be game balancing and adding treasures/items etc.
Additionally, I've attached a teaser gif for something else I've been working on. Slimes in Realms & Ruins now split!
