September Update! More progress, new systems!


Greetings Adventurers,

It's time for our September update for Realms & Ruins Abencor! Here's a rundown of the progress I've made:

1. Cityscapes Complete: The foundations of the world has been laid! All three primary cities are now standing tall, each with its unique charm and character. The final of the major 3 cities are in place, but just need some NPC's, quests and scripting. 

2. New Dungeons: The main story dungeons are taking shape in the surrounding areas of the major cities. They are in the process of being built, with monsters created (including boss encounters!). 

3. Resistance/Weakness System A significant breakthrough in combat dynamics! I've successfully implemented the early stages of a resistance/weakness system, adding a layer of tactical depth to encounters. Say farewell to boring old snake bites - they now wield the power of venom while being resistant to the same damage type. Expect more to come as I flesh out this system with regards to monsters and player equipment.

4. Embracing Originality in Art: After much contemplation, I've chosen to break free from AI-generated art because of it's current legal grey area for commercial works. While the only AI art I've incorporated is 3 screens - The Main Title Screen, Loading Image, and Death Image - They have all been changed to include non-AI art that is licensed appropriately. I will be updating my itch and Steam page logos and pictures to reflect this by the next update.

These updates mark significant milestones in the development of Realms & Ruins Abencor. As always, I eagerly await your thoughts and look forward to sharing more exciting news in the coming months.
